Ian joined the Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd in 1969, rising through the ranks to become a Branch Accountant in one of Sydney’s busiest branches. When CBA merged with Bank of NSW in 1982 to form Westpac Banking Corporation, Ian was appointed as a Branch Manager.
He was subsequently attracted by one of Australia’s leading merchant banks to take on a manager’s role specialising in property and development finance. Ian subsequently worked for Bill Acceptance Corporation and Partnership Pacific Ltd (a merchant bank subsidiary of Westpac Banking Corporation) during the 1980’s always specialising in corporate and property lending.
In 1990 Ian was seconded back into a trading bank role as a state manager for State Bank of South Australia charged with realising a substantial book of problem corporate and property loans. During this period it was necessary to manage the completion of construction of a number of projects and package assets for sale. In order to control the realisation process, Ian was appointed as a Director of 22 companies and Chairman of 6.
By 1994 Ian had successfully completed this role and joined CMF Project Finance & Advisory Services as an Executive Director.
During Ian’s banking and merchant banking careers and subsequent twenty years with PPG, Ian has amassed a substantial knowledge of property development and project finance.
Ian recently resigned after 12 years as a director and then Chairman of Jasco Ltd - an unlisted Public Company specialising in importing and wholesaling of stationery products.
